A user survey shows that 94 percent of the guests were satisfied with this year’s NorthSide Festival
In July, the survey institute Epinion spoke to 3,494 people who had participated in the NorthSide Festival in 2012, and the result is an overwhelming positive report, where 94 percent of the guests said they were satisfied with this year’s festival.
- An overall satisfaction of 94% is an incredible and completely unique result, says Senior Consultant at Epinion, Martin Østervig Larsen, and continues: – Clearly, events of this size with thousands of guests can never satisfy everyone, but NorthSide certainly has reason to be pleased with this positive assessment. If you look behind the numbers, the festival can also rejoice in the fact that the satisfaction applies to both the content in the form of music and context in the form of for instance waiting time and service.
Of the approximately 20,000 guests who attended the Northside Festival in 2012, 43 percent of the guests were repeats from 2011, and the 85 percent of guests reported that they expect to participate in Northside 2013.
Again this year more than half of the guests travelled to participate in the NorthSide Festival. Only 46 percent of the audience resides in Aarhus, while 20 percent took the trip from Copenhagen, and 3 percent came to the festival from abroad. The foreign visitors came mainly from Norway (31%), Britain (17%), and Sweden (13%).
The report also shows that a full 83 percent of the audience connects the values Sustainability and Innovation with NorthSide, and inventive sustainability events like the bike park BikeSide, waste sorters Trash Talkers, and the art project ArtcAns scored high among the audience.
It is also worth noting that 87 percent of NorthSide’s audience believe that the festival has been an important part of Aarhus’ ambition to become Capital of Culture in 2017.
About the results of the report spokesman for NorthSide, John Fogde, says:
- We are very pleased with the positive feedback that has come from our audience. Our goal is to create Denmark’s best, most innovative, and sustainable cultural event, and therefore it is very encouraging for us to feel that people can recognize our values, and that they appreciate that we are trying to create NorthSide through a dialogue with our guests. At the same time it’s nice to be confirmed that the problems we had regarding beer, food, and toilets in 2011 did not exist this year.
NorthSide 2013 will take place in Ådalen near Aarhus from June 14th-16th June and ticket sales begin Saturday 1st of September at 10:00. Tickets can be purchased through Billetlugen.dk.
